From being a II World War refugee to conference interpreting: Interview with Michalina Ageros

Take a look at the 'history' of conference interpreting (and SCIC)

Michalina Ageros is a conference interpreter, in her late 80s. She was an EU interpreter for SCIC (English, French and Polish booths). She was trained in the first cohort of interpreters pre ESIT.

She has been working with the London Metropolitan University for 10 years as a tutor and in fact, their new interpreting suite (where the interview takes place) is named after her. She also taught at Westminster and Bath Universities in the past.

During the interview, we have asked her about her life first as a refugee during the Second World War, then her education which was quite unusual and finally interpreting, which includes the very beginning of AIIC.
