Dear Frauke, I have also signed up to use Interpretimebank. While I haven't been able to find people with my combination to have an exchange with yet (except for one exchange that didn't work out due to timing in the end, in addition to which I believe the user base is still quite small) I do think it has the potential to be very useful once more people sign up - they just need to be encouraged to do so! Interpretimebank does have some excellent monthly material however, in which they pick a monthly topic and then select speeches in various EU languages for (usually) simultaneous interpreting practice. They usually post it on a monthly basis on their Twitter account. I would like to invite all fellow students and recent graduates registered on this platform to open a discussion on different possibilities of extracurricular (additional) training, such as mock conferences organized within university facilities or some other institutions. With an aim to exchange good practices and lessons learned, we could increase the number of training opportunities. To set an example, in Vienna there is a possibility to do simultaneous interpretation of conferences (in a dummy booth) organized by the National Defense Academy (http://www.bundesheer.at), which is a great opportunity to practice in a real-life setting. Any other examples?

Dear Susan, Thank you for your effort, I would appreciate it. Another example is organizing MOC conferences in institutional premises (something similar to what I have mentioned above). For example, in January this year, Austrian Interpreters´and Translators´ Association worked together with two Austrian faculties that were organizing a MUN-Conference on Migration and Climate change. Hence, the "proper" setting was there, they even provided us beforehand with materials and some of our professors joined as well in order to give us feedback. To conclude, if there are some institutions (preferably with booths) in your city, it would be a good idea to try contacting them and organizing MOC conferences. Let me know if you would like to have more information about the intra-institutional cooperation.

Hi there Sandra! Great thread, I'm trying to find practice platforms other than speech repository at the moment. I studied in Germersheim, in Germany, and they have a mock conference every Friday, in different languages and on different subjects.
