From consecutive to simultaneous in interpreter training

We are pleased to announce that our sixth KCI Virtual Café will be taking place next week, on Wednesday, the 17th of January 2024, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm (CET).
This time, our expert panel will be composed of Ms Anabela Frade, Acting Deputy Head of Unit for Talent Development in SCIC, Ms Alicja Okoniewska, who will take up duty as Head of Sector for Succession Planning and Training of Future Interpreters in the same unit as of the 1st of February, as well as Ms Lucia Ruiz Rosendo, Associate Professor, Director of the Interpreting Department at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting (FTI) at the University of Geneva, and Ms Susan Folan, Director of the MA in Conference Interpreting at the University of Galway.
They will be discussing the pedagogical aspects of the transition from consecutive to simultaneous in interpreter training.
SCIC’s interpreters will be providing simultaneous interpretation from French, German, English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Polish into French, German, and English.
