A panoply of celebrations
The European Day of Languages is a well-established opportunity to raise awareness about language learning and linguistic diversity.
On top of our dedicated KCI Virtual Café, a lot will be happening in your country (and across Europe) to mark this occasion. Take a look at the many events taking place in the various Member States.
On 1 September, DG Translation will also launch a special social media campaign, starting with the publication of the new European Day of Languages poster, followed by daily posts with fun facts about the different EU official languages. Keep an eye on their Instagram, Facebook and X accounts!
Also, don’t miss the special focus on the results of the 2024 Eurobarometer on Europeans and their languages! In a dedicated online event opened by Iliana Ivanova, EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, the Director-Generals of the Directorate General (DG) for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, DG Translation, and DG Interpretation will explain how the European Commission supports multilingualism.
