IBPG, practice session available

Interpreters in Brussels Practice Group

a group of people sitting and working around the table

IBPG (Interpreters in Brussels Practice Group) is turning 10 years old and the organisers would like to invite you to celebrate this milestone together with a special hybrid session (at KUL university in Brussels and on Zoom) followed by a special birthday cake at Scott's.

IBPG is a free, peer-to-peer, professional interpreters’ practice group who usually meet every other Wednesday to practice sim and consec together. Exceptionally, for its 10th birthday, the session will be opened to interpreting students as well.

It will start with a shorter practice session of one hour. It will be a multilingual sim session focusing on the stories behind IBPG's creation. Relay will be available for onsite participants, and students from different universities will join us online.

Online participants can organise themselves to take relay from another online colleague as there will probably be IT, FR, ES and EN (and maybe more) on the floor.

Following the group’s well-known tradition, the participants will then go to Scott's bar (Rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 2, Brussels) to enjoy a birthday cake and drinks at 8:15 pm. Former, current and new members are welcome to join us.

If you want to attend the practice session and / or the birthday drink please send an email to ibpgsessions@gmail.com by Friday 16th stating if you will be joining the practice session onsite or online and if you want to join the group at Scott's. Connection details will follow.
